This week, we have two new additions in the gallery; Choking Hazard and Man. The multi-media sculptures are made of found materials that comment on

"Living in an era when the concept of recycling is key to anything approaching a sustainable future for our species, it feels apposite to re-use and repurpose existing imagery."

Choking Hazard

Man

You have the chance to contribute to the making of a brand new piece Oddly Head is currently working on. The Door is a replica of number 10 Downing street and we are asking you to donate your old kitchen knives and scissors to be recycled into a very provocative and current sculpture. For every donation, you will be entered into a prize draw to win an Oddly Head print!

The artist says;

"This as yet untitled piece is a full-scale replica of the iconic front door of Number 10 Downing Street. Conceived during the run up to the recent EU Referendum, it’s an expression of the dismay so many of us felt and feel with our elected leaders. It’s a cry for help. It’s an imagining of a moment in time when an exasperated people grab whatever they find in the kitchen drawer and bum-rush Downing Street. The events of the last few weeks, where we’ve watched in horror as politicians have jostled for position whilst gambling with an entire nation’s social and economic security make this work more relevant than ever"

To be in the running to win a free limited edition print by Oddly Head, and for further information, contact carla@hanguppictures.com to organise delivery of your old kitchen knives/scissors - anything you no longer need!

The gallery is open 12-6 Tues-Sun so you're more than welcome to deliver your old kitchen wear directly to our door.

Once the work is complete, you'll be available to view at Hang-Up Gallery. Watch this space....
