About

Whether it’s straight from the artist’s studio, a unique and rare piece from Banksy or from the gallery’s own private collection, Hang-Up Collections will promise to bring you something new, different and exciting each time you visit.  Following a successful launch in August 2014, the revolving exhibition has showcased artworks from leading international urban and contemporary artists alongside super-fresh releases and exciting rare finds from the Hang-Up artist roster. Adopting a slightly unconventional approach to the traditional exhibition format, new work is added and removed throughout the exhibition duration allowing it to evolve and change over the weeks.  The first edition Hang-Up Collections Volume I is currently on display at Hang-Up Gallery, and has seen the works of artists such as Banksy, Dolk, Sir Peter Blake, Tracey Emin, Futura, Mark Powell, Joe Webb, Pure Evil and Mason Storm hang on it's walls. Hang-Up Collections Volume I will continue to impress with exclusive new works until 29 Nov 2014.

Artist

Banksy Banksy

Banksy was the first UK graffiti artist to successfully straddle the divide between street and fine art. Having initially built his reputation on a series of high profile public stunts, such as installing his own painting into the Tate Museum, Banksy has become a worldwide phenomenon and the leader of the street art movement. He started making editioned prints in 2002 and created over 50 in an 8 year period. His wit, humour and message have connected with a large international audience and he has become one of the hottest and most important living Contemporary artists in the world.  Originally from the UK, his identity has remained anonymous at all times and does not operate through the conventional gallery system, having no formal representation. All Banksy works sold through Hang-Up come with a COA. See our Banksy Guide and Banksy Editions Guide for more information.
