The pouts of old-school pin-ups stare out from collages, their faces instantly recognisable – but their hair styles? Not so much. In place of tousled up-dos, expect explosions of flowers, animals and pirate ships conveyed in Rivans' surreal signature style. Drawing on influences as diverse as Frida Kahlo, Alfred Hitchcock and Sarah Lucas, her magnificent mash-ups using found ephemera don’t just include faces. Look out for fairytale landscapes suspended in white space and 3D boxed collages of alternate realities.

Rivans designed a room at Brighton’s Artist Residence hotel: it’s an explosion of exotic plants, Hollywood stills and retro postcards.
