How Our Artists Are Staying Creative at Home | Pt. II
18 May 2020
We recently had the pleasure of visiting Mark Vessey's studio. Greeted by
Albus, a Dachshund with a bark worst than his bite. Mark's studio is located on the top two floors of his apartment in Brighton. Above: Charlotte and Mark sitting under Playboy and Bowie
His on going body of work; Collections has taken him to some of the most extraordinary places and met the characters who have spent their lives collecting records or archival magazines. When speaking to Vessey, he recants one particular moment when he picked up someone's collection of magazines to shoot and he could see the client was so apprehensive when handing them over as the objects are their most prized possessions.

“My work is about trying to establish a sense of order. There is comfort in collecting things, studying things that people take for granted, grouping every day objects into such a way that they become something special, seeing how they fit together to become a thing of great beauty.”
For Mark's latest release, he has collaborated with Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim and selected the vinyls that have shaped his musical career and consolidated the records into one photograph.
