We also consider the condition, provenance, rarity, edition, size and market position of the specific work.

Auction results normally report the hammer price rather than the amount ultimately received by the seller.
The auction house may then deduct seller’s commission, VAT on fees, Artist’s Resale Right, insurance, photography, marketing, transport, storage and other charges.
If the work does not sell, the seller may also face unsold-lot fees, insurance, transport, storage or withdrawal-related costs, depending on the auction house’s terms.
With Hang-Up, the amount you are due to receive is agreed in advance. You also avoid the risk of a public unsold result, which can affect the future marketability of the work.
