Grayson Perry released the ‘Gay Black Cats MC’ limited edition to launch his 2017 solo show at the Serpentine Gallery. This handmade appliqué flag is inspired by Asafo flags, which provided visual representations of military companies, especially among the Fante in present-day Ghana from the 18th century onwards. A devoted fan of motorcycling, Perry designed this flag for an imaginary motorcycle gang.
