Meet The Artist
How Our Artists Are Staying Creative at Home | Pt. I
May 13, 2020
MA: I’m making some small paintings on paper of my usual ‘fluffies/ modern life problems’ and I’m doing
some bigger acrylic paintings on canvas about love, loss and near misses …the general state of your heart and lungs, scarring… quite
poignant for me right now.

HU: From collaborating with Comme des Garcons to exhibiting at the Royal Academy’s famous ‘Summer Exhibition’ in 2018, the last few years have been exciting for you, to say the least. What has been your proudest moment as an artist so far?
MA: Grayson Perry and Humphrey Ocean’s continual encouragement, they are both all-around, good blokes who make me laugh, its a bit like a ‘ready brek glow’.
Magda Archer's 'Please Don't Talk To Me About Art' in the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition 2018, which was curated by Grayson Perry
HU: You have one album to play in your studio forever more - What would it be?
MA: My own album ‘THIS IS BROMLEY’. Certain people tease me about being my own biggest fan, I never get tired of hearing it. My friend,
the producer, Steve Brown and I prat about in his studio, we’re called ‘The Cola Cubes’.
It’s just pure, unadulterated FUN. (First two tracks now out on Spotify).
