Banksy Originals
Impress at Auction

Yesterday two impressive Banksy originals soared at auction.

One of Banksy’s most enduring images headlined Sotheby’s Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction in London this week, as Love Is In The Air (Life Size) (2011) sold for £6,434,000. This makes the work amongst the top 10 most expensive Banksy works ever sold at auction.

For collectors priced out of unique canvases, the Love Is In The Air prints remain the most accessible way to acquire one of Banksy’s defining images, and continued strength at the top end can help underpin confidence in the broader market.

Lenin on Roller Skates also made sold for an impressive £106,250 at Tate Ward Auctions. This satirical stencilled canvas, mocking the political leader drawers certain parallels to the Heavy Weaponry original we currently have hanging in the gallery.

This particular Heavy Weaponry work is an extremely rare signed example. This work is an earlier work from 2001 (compared to the edition of 25 which was from 2003).

If you have any questions or would like help with any of the works I have mentioned, please feel free to reply to this email or pop me a WhatsApp.
