We are delighted to announce the release of Mark Vessey’s latest collaboration with Fatboy Slim (Norman Cook), launching exclusively with Hang-Up Gallery.

Norman’s Record Box captures one of Norman’s most personal possessions. This was the case that travelled with him across the globe when vinyl was the only way to DJ. Covered in stickers from Keith Haring’s Pop Shop, Acid House smilies, Stüssy, Dior and more, it charts his journey through music and pop culture.

For many, this box will stir memories of unforgettable nights and dancefloors. It is a personal relic of Norman’s journey, a timeless emblem of global dance culture, and a memento of a wild, shared time in music history.

From Big Beach Boutique to Glastonbury, Ibiza and beyond, the box was a constant companion. In Vessey’s photograph it is preserved as both a portrait of Norman and an intimate record of his career.

Available editions:

Standard – 80 × 80 cm (Edition of 50) – £495

Medium – 95 × 95 cm (Edition of 30) – £625

Large – 110 × 110 cm (Edition of 20) – £895

In addition, just five Motherpiece editions (125 × 125 cm), sold tray framed and printed direct to Diabond, are available at £6,000.

All orders will be shipped out from 20th October.

This release is particularly significant, with the work set to feature in Norman’s forthcoming book It Ain’t Over (releasing October 2025), placing it within a wider cultural story.

“I saw Norman’s record box one evening when he was using it to DJ, and I was drawn to it straight away. It is such a reflection of Norman’s playful character and captures his journey and history of pop culture.”

Each edition is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity from both artists, and the piece is complementary to Vessey’s earlier work Norman (2018), which immortalises the DJ's legendary record collection.

“What Mark does with objects like this is make us see the significance in things that might seem everyday...He shows that this is more than just old magazines or someone’s record box — this is history, culture and art. He finds beauty in the flawed nature of our possessions.”
