We have just welcomed a very rare Andy Warhol to the gallery. This unique colourway is part of a commissioned small, unpublished edition of unique colour variants.
Another colourway is due to come up later this week at Sotheby's, London on 17th September in the Pauline Karpidas: The London Collection Evening Auction with an estimate of £2,000,000 - 3,000,000, the difference being that the Sotheby's version is on canvas, whereas this one is on Lenox Museum Board.
The last similar such example to come up at auction on Lenox Museum Board sold for £201,501 on 21st October 2021.
This is the only example of this rare composition on the market (other than the upcoming lot at Sotheby's).
