A Closer Look at In Flux
Spotlight on Works

Kostas Papakostas’s practice is rooted in movement — through space, through feeling, and through his materials. In Flux is an exhibition about shifting states, and these three works give a clear sense of that.

As the show has unfolded, patterns have started to emerge. Some works spark conversation. Some quietly surprise us. And some feel like they’re holding something just out of reach.

These are the ones we find ourselves returning to — and why.

In Flux runs until 3rd July, and we’ll be opening specially on Saturday 28th June, 11:30am – 4:30pm for anyone who’d like to catch the show (or revisit it) before it closes.

Kinetic Reverie
2025, Acrylic on linen, 122cm x 91cm
There's a sense of weight and swirl in Kinetic Reverie, like something shifting deep underwater. It’s layered, dense, and holds the eye.

"Sometimes it takes hours, days or even weeks until the conditions feel right to push my brush against the canvas. Once I am in that space a natural flow of work emerges."

Restless
2025, Acrylic and pastel on linen, 122cm x 91cm
The interplay between control and release, central to Papakostas’s practice, is especially present here. Sweeping brushstrokes meet spontaneous splatters, creating a rhythm that feels both structured and unruly.
