As we begin to emerge from the depths of a long January we’re now eagerly looking forward to the year ahead.
We will be starting our exhibition programme in March of this year with a solo presentation from Tim Fishlock entitled Paradise Version; a collection of new paintings celebrating the artist's love of music. I have been lucky enough to see this work evolve and I believe it's one of his strongest collections to date so I'm excited about this upcoming debut.
I am encouraged, but not surprised, to see the art market has got off to such a solid start this year. You may have seen some very positive recent auction results at Phillips last week for artists including; Banksy, Katherine Bernhardt, Yayoi Kusama, David Shrigley, The Connor Brothers and David Hockney, all artists we deal in, or work with. With the current global economic uncertainty, stock market woes and crypto chaos we are noticing a marked increase in collectors (new and old) coming to us as they realise the potential in art as a value preserving asset.
Last year I sat down with our journalist Amanda Potter, to chat about art pricing. You can read our conversation below.
