Banksy achieved critical acclaim in the early 2000s, transitioning from freehand graffiti to stencils for greater speed. The work is part of Banksy’s satirical and subversive imagery, with the Mona Lisa portrayed in various profane guises. In 2004, Banksy hung his version in the Louvre, replacing the subject’s face with a yellow smiley emoticon.
The work is sold in excellent condition and is accompanied by a full Pest Control COA and is currently available for viewings by appointment.
