This week we focus in on London-based artist Mark Powell, known for crafting insanely detailed portraits and repurposing historic documents as his unique canvases.
Using only a Biro pen, Powell simultaneously brings history to life whilst preserving the stories that lie in the materials.
Incorporating the lines of magazine pages, fashion patterns, antique maps and stamped envelopes (to name just a few) creates intense multi-layers of depth to his drawings.
