Wole Lagunju
Nigerian artist, Lagunju, finds inspiration in the intricate and diverse cultural traditions of the Yoruba community in Africa. His artistic creations seamlessly fuse Western influences with symbolic representations and objects from his homeland. Of particular note, Lagunju incorporates the esteemed Gelede masks, which honour female ancestors and elders, in addition to the indigo-dyed adire fabrics. As a prominent member of Nigeria's Onaism movement, Lagunju has gained worldwide acclaim for his exceptional artworks and currently resides in the United States.
