Browse New WorkDoig is a Scottish-born painter celebrated for his dreamlike, cinematic landscapes that merge memory, imagination, and reality. Raised in Trinidad and Canada, his works often evoke the atmospheric pull of both places, blending vivid colour with haunting stillness. Doig rose to prominence in the 1990s and is now regarded as one of the most influential contemporary painters.

Doig often paints from film stills rather than direct observation. Works like 'Blotter' and 'White Canoe' were inspired by movie imagery, contributing to their cinematic, dreamlike quality.
