Fishlock’s paintings draw on the radical ideas of 14th-century cleric John Ball, who called for a world without hierarchy during the Peasants’ Revolt of 1381. Once considered dangerously subversive, his message of equality and shared humanity still resonates today, echoed here through themes of empathy, acceptance, and how we choose to treat one another.

London-based artist Tim Fishlock creates bright typographic paintings inspired by our love/hate relationship with social media and uneasy alliance with modern technology.
