At the Rembrandt to Richter auction on the evening of 28 July at Sotheby's in London, the infamous street artist Banksy entered a triptych entitled Mediterranean Sea View, 2017. With an estimated value of £800,000 to £1.2 million, the final figure was £2.2 million, all of which will be donated to aid an acute stroke unit and buying children's rehabilitation equipment for the BASR hospital in Bethlehem. The political paintings depict a traditional, romantic seascape which are littered with life jackets and lifebuoys that have been washed up on the shore.  Without a doubt Banksy has his finger on the pulse of political and social issues. Using his platform to bring them to the forefront and to re-focus our attention is part of his artistic strength.
