All eyes were on Patrick Hughes and his mind-bending 3D artworks at Hang-Up HQ on November 25, when the gallery hosted a Q&A with the artist led by his friend, the former BBC correspondent Rosie Millard. Over the course of the evening, Hughes regaled guests with tales of his childhood and his time living at New York’s notorious Chelsea Hotel – as well as staging an impromptu recital of the surreal poem The Picket Fence by Christian Morgenstern, much to the audience’s delight.

‘Extinct’ is the culmination of a body of oil paintings created in secrecy for over 18 months. The reasons for doing so? To create an element of surprise and intrigue somewhat lost amongst the online art generation. To capture the imaginations of the viewer with the reveal of an unexpected new series in a solo exhibition in London with Hang-Up Gallery.

After his second sell-out show with Hang-Up in 2019, Tim Fishlock created THE POEM WILL RESEMBLE YOU, a great body of work comprised of an interactive spinning wheel piece and a series of large-scale paintings. Hang-Up visited the artist in his studio to discuss his work and the inspiration behind them.
