Exhibition Launch at Hang-Up Gallery, London. Text and art have been linked for decades, and today’s contemporary art world is more dominated by text and narrative than ever and there are four artists who are influencing this current trend: Harland Miller, David Shrigley, The Connor Brothers and Banksy. What do they all have in common aside from text? British humour.

PARADISE VERSION opened at Hang-Up on 24 March 2022, and what a night it was. Thank you to the artist for and to our drinks partners, Casamigos, Tanqueray 10, Ketel One and Haig for the delicious drinks. And of course to all those that came and contributed in making it such a successful opening night. The show is now open to the public and runs through until April 29 2022
All eyes were on Patrick Hughes and his mind-bending 3D artworks at Hang-Up HQ on November 25, when the gallery hosted a Q&A with the artist led by his friend, the former BBC correspondent Rosie Millard. Over the course of the evening, Hughes regaled guests with tales of his childhood and his time living at New York’s notorious Chelsea Hotel – as well as staging an impromptu recital of the surreal poem The Picket Fence by Christian Morgenstern, much to the audience’s delight.
Hang-Up Gallery proudly presents a solo show by British artist and inventor of ‘reverspective’ Patrick Hughes, celebrating sixty-years since his first exhibition and twenty-five years living and working in East London.
