The original painting for this print has been exhibited at Joy Yamusangie's solo exhibition Remember Me (2023) at Tiwani Contemporary and Conversations (2024) at Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. Yamusangie explains that Rodeo King explores their ongoing desire to ride a rodeo bull. "I know I’d likely fail quickly, but I’d fall with pride in having faith in myself that I did it anyway. Something within me tells me I’d be great either way. The aspiration to be great is something that we all have in some form. It’s a way of people remembering us and this painting is a visual way of communicating that."
