Populating a host of worldwide public art collections – from London’s National Portrait Gallery to New York’s MOMA via the Takamatsu City Museum in Japan – Opie’s signature characters and landscapes are instantly recognisable. A graduate of Goldsmiths and portrait painter of everyone from Blur to Sir James Dyson, Opie uses pared down black lines and strong colours to create his prints, paintings and sculptures, blending the influences of Pop Art and Minimalism into a completely unique style.
