Drawing inspiration from ancient maps to create this work, Perry replaces the figure of Christ with his own self-portrait and questions beliefs with the presence of doubt at the centre. The connections between words and images aim to be unsettling, and some turned out to be prophetic. Perry pokes fun at himself and emphasises the importance of contemporaneity and localism in his art.
