Arguably JR's most crucial image, this black-and-white photograph from 2004 was shot in one of the Les Bosquets banlieue, exactly where the 2005 French riots exploded a year later. The man pointing at the camera what at first glance appears to be a gun is the French film director and screenwriter, as well as longtime friend and collaborator of JR, Ladj Ly.
