Vessey's Carl captures the life and legacy of DJ Carl Cox through a handpicked selection of his most treasured vinyl. With a collection of over 150,000 records, distilling a lifetime of music into a single image was no small feat. Travelling to Australia, Vessey spent two days with Cox as he unearthed genre-defining gems from his collection - funk, soul, disco, rare groove, rave, Detroit techno, hip hop, electro, even '80s pop - each spine telling a story of dancefloors, festivals, and musical evolution. These records aren’t just loved, they’re lived, worn by time and travel, infused with memories. In this carefully constructed stack, Vessey creates more than an artwork. He crafts a portrait of a pioneer, the “Three-Deck Wizard,” whose music has united generations across continents.
