About

Hang-Up is a London based contemporary art gallery located in the vibrant and bohemian neighbourhood of Stoke Newington. The gallery presents a dynamic exhibition program of fresh and forward thinking work from our roster of artists, photographers and makers. We show both young artists at the early stages of their careers alongside established names from the art world. We tie it together by seeking out and showing only those who are inherently creative, artists whom in some way break the mould from the traditional, pushing the boundaries either in terms of their work, their message or both. Artists that have shown at the gallery include Norwegian born Magnus Gjoen, taxidermist Nancy Fouts, London artist Rosie Emerson, political duo kennardphillips and collage artist extraordinaire Joe Webb.

Hang-Up was formed in 2008 as an online gallery, launching as a street art website specialising in highly collectible and sought after limited edition prints. Renamed as Hang-Up Urban, it has now grown to become Europe's leading online urban art gallery. In addition to our extensive gallery inventory we have close links with a global network of galleries, publishers, dealers and private collectors enabling us to source specific artwork requests quickly and efficiently. Over the years we have built up a particular following and reputation for our ability to source rare limited edition Banksy prints, and pride ourselves in being able to do so, regularly selling and buying on behalf of our international client list.

In 2010 we launched Hang-Up Contemporary, a second online gallery dealing in contemporary editions, working closely with an international roster of established and emerging artists and publishers including Sir Peter Blake, Stanley Donwood, Anja Niemi, Russell Young, Harland Miller. Like Hang-Up Urban we deal in an even wider range of contemporary editions from established artists.

In 2013, following feedback from our customers, we have taken the decision to launch a new site that combines Hang-Up Urban, Hang-Up Contemporary and Hang-Up Gallery into one responsive website, optimised for however you choose to view it, on mobiles, tablets or desktops. The aim has been to simplify the experience, making it easier to search, browse and buy online. So welcome to our new online home - we hope you like it!
