From blue-chip canvases achieving eight-figure prices in New York to sought-after screenprints significantly outperforming their estimates in London, collectors continue to compete for the artist's most recognisable and culturally resonant images.
At the top end of the market, Brigitte Bardot realised £18.4 million at Sotheby's New York, while Details of Renaissance Paintings (Sandro Botticelli, Birth of Venus, 1482) exceeded expectations to achieve £6.78 million at Christie's. Other notable results included Wayne Gretzky, which nearly doubled its high estimate, and Little Electric Chair, a reminder of sustained demand for Warhol's iconic Death and Disaster imagery.
